I was so excited when Aubrey approached me about doing a series of creative portraits for promoting her new single "Like a Cigarette" this past summer. Aubrey is a Nashville local, and incorporating Nashville locations without being too on-the-nose was very important to her. After doing some location scouting, we decided to shoot at the Percy Priest dam as well as in the lake itself at a rocky outcropping. We also did a short series in my home studio with a warm orange backdrop in which Aubrey selected the photo for her single release cover. We started early in the morning so the light at the dam would give the best directional light for the look we were trying to achieve.
